Captain Kristance Buelow is known for her steady leadership, strategic mind, and deep empathy for her crew. As a teenager, she began watching it with her foster dad, Paul, whose kindness and integrity mirrored the very ideals of Starfleet. Paul’s influence left a lasting mark on her, shaping her sense of justice, curiosity, and responsibility. Today, Captain Buelow strives to uphold the principles that Paul lived by, forging a path of thoughtful exploration and inclusive leadership aboard the Cutty Sark. Kristance balances her role as the captain of The Sark with her life as a mother of three teenagers. Known for her creativity and curiosity, she enjoys weaving, reading, caring for houseplants, cosplay, and cocktails. A devoted fan of both coffee and tea, she appreciates the fortitude of Captain Janeway and the diplomacy of Captain Picard, but her true admiration lies with Captain Rachel Garrett of the USS Enterprise-C, whose courage and sacrifice deeply resonate with her. Grounded yet imaginative, Captain Buelow brings a thoughtful, compassionate approach to both her command and her family.

Second Officer, Conner Valenti has always been a trekkie at heart growing up he watched what he could after school with his dad, learning about the true values of the future and the hopeful present. As a youth he learned the true meaning of tolerance, acceptance and to help your neighbor whenever possible. he learned to continuously curious and cunning with a strong will to make the world a better place.

Chief of Operations Alex Page is a life-long Star Trek fan. She grew up watching the series with her British father, so she saw Captain Picard as a natural father figure who “sounds like dad”. Alex lives to exemplify Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations, welcoming viewpoints and experiences that are outside her own. Chief Alex believes that any group is stronger when different perspectives are considered. She enjoys thinking about our place in the universe and how important it is to be the steward of our earth and resources. Alex is a practical person who likes to get things done and make ideas into a reality. She also likes stirring up crew morale and gushing over the aesthetic of Star Trek, especially wardrobe designs. As a cosplayer and visual artist, Alex loves to pay homage to her favorite fandom with costumes and illustrations. Alex’s favorite captain is Benjamin Lafayette Sisko.

Chris Bryan serves as Helmsman of the USS Cutty Sark, STARFLEET’s Portage-based chapter. Responsible for scouting upcoming missions—from community service to sci-fi conventions—they ensure the crew stays engaged and active.

Chris lives in Portage with his wife Heather and their child, Avery.

Chris graduated from American Public University in 2020 with a bachelor's in business administration, which taught him many valuable strategies that apply to STARFLEET as much as the professional world.

Chris is also a musician and video editor when he is off duty.

He is passionate about engaging in the STARFLEET International community.
